About Washable Kraft/Kraft-Tex

Washable Kraft paper or Kraft-Tex is a leather and fabric alternative that is lightweight and washable.

It is a German engineered paper that is commonly known for jeans tags (think Levi's tag). It is made from natural paper fiber that has been tanned, resulting it to be very durable and water resistance, thus the name washable.

Washable paper is produced from cellulose fiber. This is a substrate of wood and is a natural material.

Washable Kraft Paper is:

  • Strong and tear-resistant--you really have to work HARD to tear it.
  • Water-resistant
  • Lightweight and versatile--sews, cuts and washes like fabric
  • softens, and ages like leather.

Washable Kraft paper is water-resistant. It will absorb water but can be air dried (dry flat for our notebooks)

About Stone Paper

Stone paper is a type of paper that is made out of calcium carbonate 80% (limestone) and ecological binder 20%.

Stone Paper is:

  • Tear-resistant yet elastic. It will stretch before it tears.
  • Waterproof
  • Resistant to grease
  • Lightweight and soft
  • Soft to write on and cuts like paper

No trees, water, toxins or bleach are used in the production of Stone paper.

Writing on Stone Paper:

  • Stone paper provides a very smooth writing experience.
  • It will not absorb ink and is NOT fountain pen friendly. We recommend thick pencil leads and ballpoint pens.
  • Stone paper is very soft. If you write with a lot of pressure, you will dig into the paper.
  • Stone paper does not bleed.
